Contests include those for amateurs and professionals

Chefs from throughout the Rio Grande Valley are sought for the 24th annual World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off Nov. 4 in Port Isabel. Both amateur and professional chefs compete in separate events showcasing their dish’s appearance, aroma and taste.

In addition, food vendors and merchants may also register to participate in the event. Registration forms are accepted through Oct. 3. The annual festival will run from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Businesses interested in sponsoring the event may print a sponsorship form. Deadline for sponsors to submit payment and form is also Oct. 3 in order for company logo to be included in media, print and the event t-shirt.

Entry forms for chefs are available via the Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce, as well as food vendor registration and merchant registration. Entry forms must be received no later than Oct. 3. Booth fees are nonrefundable.
