Multi-campus event takes place Oct. 4 and Oct. 6
The University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley Career Center hosts its Fall Career Expo at the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses in October. Representatives from corporations and government agencies are invited showcase their organization, interview students for internships and recruit prospective graduates for future employment.
The expos take place on the Brownsville campus Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the PlainsCapital Bank El Gran Salon (Student Union), and Oct. 6 at the Edinburg campus Fieldhouse (EHPE 1) from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. While the focus is on careers on STEM fields, the expo is open to all majors and all areas of study.
The Fall Career Expo is the university’s largest community event throughout the year. The Fall Career Expo attracts large corporations from across the nation looking to hire students for internships, full-time positions and careers.
Employer registration for the Brownsville expo is limited to 50 participants. It carries a $175 registration fee, which includes a six-foot table and two chairs. Registration for the Edinburg event is $300 for a 10×10 booth with a six-foot table and two chairs. A larger 10×20 booth with two six-foot tables and four chairs is $500.
Employers interested in the Fall Career Expo must create an account on the Career Center’s Career Connection. Once a profile is complete, click on “Search” in the “Career Events” tab. Click “Register” next to the event of interest and follow the directions. A confirmation will be emailed from Career Services once registration has been reviewed.
