RGV Partnership Boardroom Dedication

The Rio Grande Valley Partnership dedicated its boardroom Nov. 16 as the Bill Summers Executive Boardroom in memory of the William E. “Bill” Summers.

Current RGVP board members, past chairs and other distinguished guests participated in the event with reminiscing of their late colleague, friend and mentor. Mrs. Summers and her son Randy graciously accepted accolades, presents and fellowship as friends joined to celebrate a hardworking life of the party.

Summers served as the RGV Partnership president and CEO for 22 years, unifying Deep South Texas and Northern Mexico as one region. The professional and personal impacts Summers made on many has inspired today’s leaders and future generations to continue his legacy of one region – one voice.

“This event was so touching to both mom and me, and we are so appreciative,” Randy Summers added.

My thirty years in the media world has primarily focused on marketing, advertising and writing. This industry is my passion. I have been blessed to serve customers with marketing consulting, advertising concepts, video production and promotion of all forms - broadcast, print and digital. My occupation is a fun job but not work. The opportunity to put clients and customers together awakens me early. Learning clients and their businesses enables me to create effective multimedia advertising campaigns. My media life led me to deep South Texas in 2004 to co-found The Business Times of the Rio Grande Valley and then the Valley Business Report in 2009. This south Louisiana native is proud to call the Rio Grande Valley my home.
